Goldilocks Golden Glow Porridge

Lock your doors and ditch the three bears because Goldilocks does not like to share...


Since being read 'Goldilocks and the three bears' as a child, I always had a fascination for porridge. Yes... I've been a foodie since birth.

I remember making it at home for the first time, simply mixing oats and water over the stove top. Expecting a mouthful of sweet, juicy deliciousness, I was met with a stodgy, bland, cafeteria vibe bowl of... puke looking mush. I felt like my Goldilocks dreams were crushed forever.

Fast forward a few years and nowadays I THRIVE in these circumstances. I found out I was gluten intolerant, and of course, have no time for bland and boring food. This was the perfect combination to create my gooey, sweet and creamy GOLDILOCKS GOLDEN GLOW PORRIDGE!

Gluten Free || Vegan || Soy Free || Cane Sugar Free || Easy Peasy 


1/2 Cup Quinoa Flakes

Almond Milk (roughly 1 cup)


1 Banana

Coconut Sugar (around 1.5 tbsp)

This is literally SO simple and ridiculously QUICK!

In a small saucepan, over a medium - low heat, throw in your quinoa flakes and almond milk. The reason I say 'roughly 1 cup' is because I never really measure it. I add dashes of almond milk as it begins to absorb, I'm just estimating that I end up adding around 1 cup.

While it's cooking I also stir in some cinnamon, coconut sugar (around 1 tsp) and half a cut up banana.

This porridge literally takes no time at all! Once absorbed, hot and thick, remove from the heat and add some extra cinnamon and coconut sugar. I also cut up the other half of the banana, and display it on top. Depending on your sweet tooth will determine how much coconut sugar you want to add! If you don't have coconut sugar you can always add some agave nectar, rice malt syrup of honey if you include that in your diet.

I'm also thinking of adding a serving of Tropeaka Vanilla Lean protein powder to my next batch, just to get an extra hit of protein at brekkie!
